Interior in English style
The combination of aristocracy and restraint, striving for perfection of forms and impeccable color combinations – that’s what distinguishes Victorian interiors.
The British, arranging their way of life, are guided by the saying: “We are not so rich to buy cheap things.” Therefore, an English-style interior is not only high-quality materials, but also the high cost of details. It has been created for many years for a very long service.
The center of the English house is a large fireplace. Due to the mild climate in the UK, it is used as the main source of heat.
From history, we remember that during the reign of Queen Victoria, the country conquered colonies, and the British began to “grow” affluence. Therefore, there are a lot of different furniture in the English house, which sometimes occupies almost the entire space, and souvenirs and trinkets brought from distant countries.
The walls of the English-style interior are decorated with tapestries or wallpapered with a complex pattern, often voluminous, resembling a bas-relief. The ceiling is either whitewashed or decorated with suspended wooden panels – three tones lighter than the window frames and doors.
Such an interior says that its owners are conservative and respectable – real ladies and gentlemen!
