Fashion and interiors of the Victorian era
Some people are not satisfied with the environment in which they live. But you can change everything and recreate in your apartment, at least in one room, your favorite, the style of the Victorian era. A lot of charming trinkets and quite functional pieces of furniture are filled with this ancient spirit of elegance and fine taste.
Arrange a small English tea room. Imagine ladies and gentlemen sitting at an oval table, drinking tea of the best varieties, leading witty conversations. The whole atmosphere is cozy, a chess table is conveniently located by the fireplace, a chest of drawers is decorated with collections of smoking pipes and sinks, an upholstered chair invites you to read the Times, and in the corner is the most important accessory – a grandfather clock, but, unfortunately, without the Westminster chime.
If you wish, you can get the indispensable attributes of the Victorian era style: porcelain busts, vases, silver candlesticks, pewter pheasants and horses, a hand-made patterned service made of thin glass, a needlework table, a large globe on an elegant stand, a chandelier with candles. A little lapdog, a levretka or a Yorkshire terrier will complement the style.
