“Traditions of the Silver Age”. Design of a two-room apartment.
The object belongs to the architectural group of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, which distinguishes it from a number of “ordinary” residential objects and uniquely sets the style. Customers were looking for a similar housing option not only because of their predisposition to classics, but the energy of the room, in which the breath of centuries is felt, was also important to them.
The construction technologies of the last century differ significantly from the current times. Nevertheless, the modern love of united spaces did not “conflict” with the style at all. The kitchen, dining room, and living room were made into one space as much as possible. To do this, the fences forming the pantry were completely dismantled, the doors to the kitchen and living room were removed, and the wall between the bedroom and living room was moved in favor of the latter, which added 2.5 m’.
The interior solution in the spirit of the best traditions of the silver Age of Russian classicism allowed the “house in time” to sound with modern notes. The designer tried to reproduce the atmosphere of spiritual renewal in this interior. The entrance hall with a modest area and powerful energy — terracotta walls, a column and a bronze mirror – instantly positions the incoming person, gently and imperiously imbuing with nobility and tranquility.
